Leprechaun Ice Cream Sandwiches

For past St. Patrick's Days we've made Magic Leprechaun Pudding Pie and our version of Shamrock Shakes. Today we're making Leprechaun Ice Cream Sandwiches! These tasty treats are sure to make a great addition to any St. Patrick's Day celebration! To make these yourself you'll need: Vanilla ice cream (I used vanilla bean) Milk Mint extract (make sure it's mint and not peppermint) Green food coloring Graham crackers Chocolate A blender A freezable, flat dish Round or square cookie cutter (just smaller than 1/2 a graham cracker size) 1) Blend the ice cream, mint extract, green food coloring and milk in the blender. I admit, I don't measure when I do these things. It's really just per personal taste. Only use enough milk, however, to get the ice cream to blend. You do NOT want the mixture to be soupy, it needs to be just thin enough to pour or slightly thicker than milkshake consistency. 2) Once blended, pour the mixture in a freezable flat pan. I … [Read more...]

Bubble Airplane Valentines

Ok, I admit it, I found these cute airplane valentines on Pinterest. The site, however, was not in English. I had every intention of copying the Valentines into an English tutorial using Life Savers candy instead of the candy this person used. Of course I would credit the original site. But then I went to the store to find Life Savers...Instead I found bubbles and Bubble Airplane Valentines were born... My bubble airplane valentines are similar to the valentines I found on Pinterest but in my opinion, these are a little more versatile. Why? Because you can print the writing on either side of patterned paper or on plain paper. You can also use blue toned bubbles and paper to make them more boy-ish. Bubbles are better than candy because you don't have to worry about allergies! 1) Click on the photos below to download them. 2) Print the wings on whatever paper you want, on the patterned side or plain side. 3) Print the banners on paper. 4) Cut the slits on the wing so … [Read more...]

aMAZEing Valentines

If you've been reading this blog for a while, you know that I love homemade Valentines. My girls have done Fortune Teller Valentines and Kool-Aid Valentines among others. This year we're doing Slap Bracelet Valentines and these Maze Valentines. Maze Valentines are nothing new. In searching the internet, we've never found one we really like though. Most we found, you need to attach an actual, small plastic maze to or, if the maze is printed on, it is cheesy. I decided to make my own for the girls. These took a lot longer to make than expected but we think they are well worth it. There are three different Maze Valentines and each one has a different maze. Just because your friend with the pink Valentine solved their maze, doesn't mean your friend with the purple one can copy it and solve their maze! Fun huh? Click on the photo above to download and print these aMAZEing Valentines for your kids. They won't be disappointed! … [Read more...]

Red Velvet Cheesecake Milkshake

Nothing says Valentine's Day like Red Velvet Cake and Cheesecake. Today we're combining the two into one super delicious Red Velvet Cheesecake Milkshake! I've seen red velvet milkshakes around Pinterest but decided it would be fun to add some cheesecake flavoring in. Just as I thought, my milkshake was rich in flavor and so good! I can't wait to make one for my girls when they get home from school. I think Hubby might even like these! You'll need five simple ingredients to make red velvet cheesecake milkshakes: vanilla bean ice cream no-bake cheesecake mix red velvet cake mix red food coloring milk optional whip cream for topping I'll admit, I didn't really measure my ingredients as I mixed them up. I never really measure for milkshakes. For this milkshake, I filled my Magic Bullet large cup with ice cream (3-4 scoops), added two large spoonfuls of cake mix and two large spoonfuls of cheesecake mix, then added a few drops of food coloring. I added milk to … [Read more...]

Color By Number Valentines

Last year, as I was looking for Valentine inspiration on Pinterest, I came across these color by number valentines. I thought they were cool and was pretty sure I could make my own version. After all, I'm pretty ok at making graphics... So...I sat down with my graphic photo editing software and began to design...and then erase, design again...and erase. Why couldn't I get mine to look as awesome as her's?? I mean, look at her's above, now look at my two attempts below... Um, yeah, can we say fail?? The first one has just too much going on and the spaces are too small. In trying to hide the word love, I made a mess out of it. My second one wasn't looking too bad, but I could not come up with a way to hide the hearts. It was going to end up looking like a big ole mess just like the first one. Plus, this was taking way to long to do! So...I give up. I admit my failure. Please go visit RustandSunshine.com to print her version of these awesome color by number … [Read more...]

Slap Bracelet Valentines

On Monday I showed you how to make your own slap bracelets. Today we're going to turn them into valentines! These slap bracelet valentines are fairly cheap (and easy) to make and won't simply be throw away once received. You can use Duct Tape that looks Valentine-ish or choose your favorite every-day pattern. Hint though, boys won't want to wear a girly looking slap bracelet so keep that in mind. Click on the photos below to download and print the valentines. Print the base on colored paper of your choice and the top on white paper. Sign your name on the top circles then cut them out. Next cut out the bases. If you don't want to cut around all the scallops, just cut a circle around the scallops and leave them as a printed decoration. One large piece of double-sided tape works great to put them all together. If you don't have double-sided tape, just use two pieces of regular tape. How cute are these slap bracelet valentines?? … [Read more...]
