Sleeping babies are one of the cutest, most peaceful things you will ever see. Levana monitors help you focus on that cute peacefulness instead of worrying while your baby sleeps. To bring awareness of their awesome monitors, they are hosting a "Cutest Sleeping Baby Contest." I was given a Oma+™ monitor to review as part of a campaign to promote Levana's "Cutest Sleeping Baby Contest." As most of my regular readers know, my girls are beyond the baby stage. However, my neighbor had her baby just one week ago and was more than happy to give me her thoughts on the monitor! Upon opening the package that came in the mail, both my neighbor and I thought the monitor was much smaller and lighter than we thought it would be. After using it for a few days, my neighbor says she definitely likes it better than the "under the mattress monitor" that she had for her son. The Levana monitor is "not nearly as annoyingly sensitive" as the other monitor. The other monitor would constantly beep … [Read more...]

What to do when you don’t catch a Leprechaun–Leprechaun Letter
For the past few years my family has set a Leprechaun trap sometime in the week before St. Patrick's Day. Every year we wake up to the disappointment that we did not catch a Leprechaun. This year, however will be different because of this Leprechaun letter I made. Though we will not be catching a Leprechaun, my girls will be waking up to this note and some gold coins in their trap! I can't wait to see their reaction! You can do the same thing for your children. Simply print out the Leprechaun letter below, get some gold coins (gold dollars) and put them in your Leprechaun trap after your kids fall asleep! Please note that the poem in the Leprechaun letter is an original poem written by Jamie from Toys In The Dryer on 3/12/14. Jamie owns ALL RIGHTS to the poem. Permission is needed to use the poem in any way other than for personal use. The poem may NOT be used in any other printables on any other blog. Click on the note below to download. Hopefully this Leprechaun … [Read more...]
Easter Story in an Egg Hunt
Since Nutty was old enough to walk my family has had an egg hunt every Easter. My mom hides over 200 eggs and my girls, along with my nephew, hunt for them. It is a tradition we look forward to every year. Last Easter was a bit different. Hidden among the normal eggs were "special" eggs with something other than the usual candy or money inside. Instead, what was contained in these eggs shared the true meaning of why we celebrate Easter. The eggs were Resurrection Eggs. As the kids opened all the eggs they found and built their candy/money stash, they set aside the Resurrection Eggs. When all the regular eggs had been opened, the kids took turns reading the slips from the Resurrection Eggs in the ordered numbers. Along with that, my sister read the Easter Story from a book. The story closely resembled the story from the bible. The kids loved coordinating the eggs with the bible book story! Having Resurrection Eggs along with our regular eggs in the hunt reminded us all that Easter is … [Read more...]
Catching Leprechauns
Everyone knows if you catch a Leprechaun they have to give you their pot of gold. You also know that catching those pesky little critters is nearly impossible. That doesn't keep my girls from trying! This year we searched the internet for some fun and easy traps to make. Of all of the ones we looked at, the girls said these traps below look "do-able". Now to get them to agree on just one or two of them! 1) Marshmallow Mudpie has the trap that I like the most. We already have a box that's similar. Nutty agrees she likes this one too. 2) True Blue Aggie Fans has a trap similar to the one above but Tottie likes it "because it's taller and looks cooler." 3) Inheriting Our Planet has a trap similar to one we tried a few years ago. Nutty would like to try something like this again. "Maybe we didn't do it quite right last time." 4) Holiday Haven has a trap that Tottie says "I just want to try mom. I like duct tape!" Personally, this is the one I like the least :) What … [Read more...]
10 Tip For Traveling WITHOUT Your Kids
EEEK...there's just 27 days until I leave for Brandcation #SeasTheDay aboard Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas! I can not wait! No kids, no hubby, just a bunch of fellow bloggers like myself for an entire week! This will be the third time I have traveled without my kids since my first was born 7 years ago, and the second time I will travel internationally without them. The first time was to Kentucky for the weekend. That was hard because it was my first time away. I left the girls in the capable hands of my husband (with help from his mom). The second time was on a Royal Caribbean cruise with Hubby this past August. That was even harder because we left our girls with grandma and grandpa and were unreachable for an entire week. This time I'm more experienced and am excited to get away. After all, sometimes we need a break! For those of my readers who don't travel without your kids, I highly suggest you do it every now and then. It's amazing how much you appreciate them … [Read more...]
