Rinse. Recycle. Reimagine #ad #ReimagineThat

*I was given compensation to promote this campaign. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 1 in 5 (22%) Americans wouldn’t walk across their home to recycle a bath or beauty bottle. In fact, Americans are more likely to go the distance to get a drink when thirsty, charge their phone, or answer a phone call than walk an empty plastic bottle from the bathroom to the recycling bin. I admit it. I'm totally guilty! In fact, this is an actual, real time, real life, photo of my shower shelf. I did NOT stage this. My shelf actually looks like this as I'm typing... Ok, I did remove a hairball or two but the rest of the photo is real. See that black bottle in the back? See the small clear bottle in the back? Those bottles are both empty. Both waiting to be taken downstairs to the recycle bin but I'm too lazy to do so. Those two bottles will sit in my shower until Hubby either yells at me for a third (or fourth) time or he takes them downstairs himself. More men (80%) reported recycling … [Read more...]

Hard Rock Cafe’s Food and Drinks

I few weeks ago I had the opportunity to try out Hard Rock Cafe's new food and drink menu at the Mall of America. The only thing I can say is, wow. Hubby, I, and fellow bloggers were treated to an 8 course dinner. Yes, eight courses! Talk about trying nearly everything on the menu...I think I'm still full (and a bit tipsy as everything on the menu also has an alcoholic beverage that pairs with it)! Our dinner started out with appetizers--Spinach Artichoke Dip, Tupelo Chicken Tenders, and Balsamic Tomato Bruschetta along with Magical Mystery Mojitos (so refreshing!). While the dip was good, hubby liked the chicken tenders and I liked the bruschetta. There was definitely something different about this bruschetta than most that I've had. Next came an Air Mexico starter with three signature mini margaritas and a personal portion of chips and salsa. Cucumber margarita was my favorite, mango was Hubby's favorite. Grilled Chicken Arugula Salad started our main meal. Lemon … [Read more...]

Bed Wetting is More Common Than You Think! #ConquerBedWetting

*This post is sponsored by Acorn, an Influence Company 15% of children still wet the bed at age 5 5% of children still wet the bed at age 10. A few weeks ago I wrote a post about why I did not potty train my girls. In that post I talked strongly about the fact that you can not night train your children. Your child’s ability to stay dry through the night is solely based on physical development and their subconscious ability to hold their bladder while sleeping. You can't teach that. While I admit, both my girls stayed dry at night before they stayed dry during the day, we still had one or two bed wetting accidents per girl. Nutty was more mortified by it than Tottie was. A lot of my friends have had their kids continue to wet the bed long after they were potty trained during the day. Bed wetting (even in children up to age 10) is more common than people realize (or talk about). Again, I'll remind you that night-time dryness is NOT something you can teach. It is also not … [Read more...]

Disney On Ice Presents Frozen Recap #DisneyOnIceInsider

I received something of value from Feld Entertainment as part of their Insider Program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Last evening my family and I had the chance to attend opening night (Minneapolis) of Disney On Ice Frozen. Let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! We've seen two other Disney On Ice shows but as my husband said, "Frozen is the best Disney On Ice show we've seen by far!" It was a bit hard to get photos because the lighting was so dramatic and everything was moving. What I have does NOT do the show justice. It's definitely worth going to see in real life if you have the chance. Before I go on and on about the good things, I do have three things to warn you about: 1) The show starts with a brief introduction by Mickey, Mini, Goofy, and Donald Duck, and is then followed by the Disney Princesses and other popular Disney characters. This confused my girls as they thought they were not going to … [Read more...]

Moms and Their Body Wash

*I was given compensation and/or product to facilitate my review of this product. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Can a body wash make you feel like less of a mom? I think so... I've been a fan of Caress® body washes for a long time so when I was given the opportunity to review their new Forever Collection, I jumped on it. The Caress® Forever Collection is the world's first body wash with Fragrance Touch Technology. Caress Fragrance Release Pearls ™ bring out bursts of perfume with each touch of your skin. In other words, it's a "scratch and sniff body wash" as my girls call it. These body washes definitely have a perfume smell to them and it's a kind of flowery sensual smell. One that, when I was in the shower, made me feel like more of a woman than a mom. Not a scent I really want my daughters smelling like! I admit, the fragrance was a bit overwhelming at first but once you dry off, it dies down and isn't extremely noticeable unless you are close. I'm not really … [Read more...]

Our Adventures at the Ice Castles MN

I first let you know about the Minnesota Ice Castles back in January. If you haven't gone to see them yet, you better hurry! They're only open for about another week and a half. They close March 7th. Thanks to US Family Guide, my family finally got a chance to visit them two days ago and we were not disappointed! One advantage to going so late in the year (and during the week) is that there wasn't a crowd at all. We got right in. I still say you need to check out the tips from MinneMamaAdventures and TwinCitiesFrugalMom. Both went earlier in the season but a lot of their tips still hold true. The girls LOVED the Ice Castles. So did Hubby and I. To be honest, Hubby thought they were going to be a bit boring because "they aren't real castles made with blocks, they are just a bunch of icicles." He admitted that he was wrong and that the "architecture was pretty cool." He's the one that took all the video below. I didn't ask him to take it, he just thought it was cool enough … [Read more...]
