I received compensation for help in promoting this contest. The Minnesota State Fair, aka The Great Minnesota Get Together, has been part of Minnesota tradition since 1859 (a year after Minnesota was granted statehood). In it's present location since 1885, the Minnesota State Fair now features 320 acres of food and fun; and is the largest state fair in the United States by average daily attendance boasting upwards of 200,00 attendees a day! Just like the state fair, Kemps has also been a Minnesota tradition for generations. From it's beginnings as a small creamery in Southeastern Minnesota in 1914, to operating six manufacturing facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin with over 1,200 employees, Kemps delights families with their milk, ice cream and milk products. To celebrate special family memories and to create memories that will stick with families for years to come, Kemps has come up with the ‘Then & Now: Kemps State Fair Photo Contest’. Rich in history and the … [Read more...]
Free Customizable Camping List Printable
My family loves camping. Whether it be camping in our back yard, camping on our boat, or even having a camping birthday party, we camp at least once a year. You'd think that with how many times we camp that I'd have packing down to a tee. The thing is, I HATE packing. Packing for anything causes me huge anxiety. I'm not quite sure why. It's probably because my family moved a lot when I was younger. To help with packing for camping, I made a camping list printable of everything our family takes on our trips. Now packing (at least to go camping) is a breeze and we rarely forget anything! I thought I'd share my printable camping supply list with you to make your packing easy too! I've included things that we've packed when our girls were babies and even things we take for our dogs. This list is completely customizable so you can make it your own without a lot of thought. See the directions for customization below. Click on the photo above or click HERE to download. To … [Read more...]

CRAVE’s New Breakfast Menu
A new brunch spot has arrived in Saint Louis Park: Crave in the Shops at West End is now open for breakfast beginning at 8:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays. As you may know, I work most weekends so it's hard for me to get out for breakfast. When I was asked to review Crave's new breakfast menu, I had every intention of going. I really wanted to try red velvet pancakes! But life got out of hand and I ended up having my friend Stephanie* go in my place. Here is her review... We don’t normally go out for brunch because my husband makes a pretty solid American style breakfast, but it’s nice to give him a break from the kitchen every now and then. We arrived by 9:00 AM. Fortunately, the restaurant was empty that early, so we didn’t need to worry about a wait for a table. Whether it was because of the holiday weekend or because people still don’t know about it, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. It was nice because I usually associate “brunch” with “wait an hour for a … [Read more...]
Help Launch Camp Cheesecake
Please note that I was not asked to write this post. In fact, Tami has no clue that I'm doing it. I just feel compelled to help a friend who has given so much to other people... This is Tami, an extremely hard working single mother of 4 plus a few pets. (I stole this photo and a few others from Facebook - I hope she doesn't mind! Tami amazes me with her drive and passion. She has so much weight on her shoulders at times but always sees life with a positive attitude. She's the first to help others out and to donate from her business when needed. This is Muddy Paws Cheesecake, Tami's baby. It's seriously the best cheesecake in Minnesota. I'm not just saying that because Tami is my friend, Muddy Paws actually has awards that say it's the best cheesecake in Minnesota! Over the past 20 years, Tami has grown her business to include over 222 flavors including gluten free and vegan options. FYI, Muddy Paws ships to every state in the continental United States...you know, in case … [Read more...]
Fun Last Day of School Activities for Those Who Walk
In my neighborhood area most kids walk to and from school (including mine). On any given school day there are at least 30 kids who meet at the 4-way stop for the crossing guards to let them onto school grounds. This year, I've decided to do at least one (if not all) of these last day of school activities for the kids who walk. I can't wait! Though I say that these activities are for kids who walk to and from school, you CAN do some of them for bus stop kids too. Shhhh...don't tell my girls or their friends. It's going to be a surprise! I'm gonna need some help from a few parents (or the older kids in the neighborhood who get out earlier) to pull off the last one though! Hand Out Freezies What kid doesn't like freezies? They are fairly inexpensive and are mostly allergy-free. Hand them out to the kids as they walk home for a nice last day of school treat. Decorate the Walking Paths or Sidewalks Grab some sidewalk chalk and get to decorating! Phrases like "Welcome … [Read more...]
