Primary Colors to Secondary Colors

The other day my son asked me how to make the color green. I simply replied "blue and yellow." No sooner than I could spit the words out I realized that answer would not suffice. He was going to want a better answer than just the colors that make green. We got to talking about primary colors and secondary colors. I explained to him that you cannot make primary colors and that they consist of Red, Yellow, and Blue. With those three colors you can make secondary colors consisting of Purple, Green, and orange. I also knew that my explanation would need some sort of visual back up (that's just the way his mind works) so I pondered what I could do other than just break out the crayons. I grabbed my ice-cube trays and filled them up with water. I added a small drop of yellow coloring to 4 of the cubes, a small drop of red to 4 other cubes, and a small drop of blue to the remaining 4 cubes. Four cubes of each of the primary colors. I popped them into my freezer and waited the 45 minutes … [Read more...]

Love Your Cub® Contest #ILoveMyCub #spon

Hubby and I just returned from a fabulous 5 day cruise to the Bahamas.  It was a much needed vacation for both of us.  I'll be writing a post about it soon! Unfortunately, Sunday was back to reality as the girls came home from Grandma and Grandpa's house, there was laundry to do, and the cupboards were empty.  School started for us today so not only did I have to shop for regular groceries, I had to shop for things for Nutty to take for school lunch.  What did I do to make things easier?  I got out the Sunday paper and found the Cub® Foods ad!  They have great back to school savings this weeks such as 5 for $5 on Lunchables!  Score!  Then I headed to their website and created a meal plan complete with recipes I found on their site!  Back from vacation and back to school lunch shopping was stress free with Cub®! Why we love our Cub-Crazy Savings #Spon #ILoveMyCub

Jamie has often called me names….Yes it’s true. She calls me names that I giggle at, and love!  Names like; crazy couponing lady, thrift shopper, deal finder, and my personal favorite, extreme couponer.  Why do I like it?  Wouldn’t you want to be called names that are positive things?  I love that I am known for my thrifty shopping, my deal finding, my bargain hunting ways.  I am going to share with you, our lovely readers, how I can save 50-75% off of my shopping lists!  It will sound tricky but bear with me because it’s actually really easy! Step 1:  Purchase four Sunday papers, but make sure they are purchased late on Saturday. Sunday morning papers cost $1.50 but if you buy the early edition it’s half that! Savings! $$ Why buy 4? Because most manufactures coupons will only allow you four of the same coupon. Step 2:  Pick out what you want to save out of the coupons, snip them out, then grab your Cub Foods weekly ad! Savings alone are what you find when you shop at Cub. I have … [Read more...]

Game Day With Tide® #Spon

Game day is not a day in our house. We have four kids. Four kids in soccer, two in baseball, one in football, one in dance, and two in gymnastics. So game day is more like game week in our house! We have uniforms coming out of our ears as well. No kidding, I can do an entire load of laundry with just uniforms! My oldest son is the one that seems to put my laundry detergent to the test more often than not. In the spring he plays soccer and if you can even begin to imagine the mud and grass stains we accumulate in one soccer season you can also imagine the test that our laundry detergent is put to. He's not a kid that sits on the sidelines and refuses to play, not that there is anything wrong with that. He just prefers to get right into the thick of it. His favorite games are the ones when there has been a big rain and the fields are super messy and sloppy. I think mud, dirt, and boys must go hand in hand....I think it's in their DNA somewhere. To prepare for each game "week" … [Read more...]
