What I REALLY Want For Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday and I’m sure you’ve seen all kinds of posts about what moms want for their special holiday.

what moms want for mother's day

I made a funny infographic about the perfect Mother’s day gift, and was quoted on Royal Caribbean’s press site saying I wouldn’t mind a family photo session. Other’s have said in my private Facebook groups that they wouldn’t mind homemade cards, a dinner out with the family, a spa day, or time to themselves.  Time to myself is what I REALLY want for Mother’s Day.

I don’t want any old time to myself though…

My ideal Mother’s Day present would be an entire 24 hours alone in my house.

Yes, I said in my house. I’d have hubby take the kids somewhere fun in the evening. They would go to a hotel for the night and then somewhere fun again during the next day. I would relax in my own house, do what ever I want to do, watch the movies I want to watch, stay up as late as I want, and sleep-in in my own bed. It’s really a win-win for everyone (except maybe my hubby who has to take care of the kids for that 24 hours).

What about you? What do you REALLY want for Mother’s Day?

P.S. Do you think my hubby will get the hint if I show him this post?

  1. I love being alone in the house. LOVE it. It rarely happens but oh it is so refreshing when it does happen!

  2. Can someone get me a cruise as well, I’ve been dying to go!

  3. I feel the exact same way. I just would like silence for like an hour for Mother’s Day!

  4. Um, that sounds amazing. I’m with you! Wow, 24 hours alone in my house. No video games, I could watch whatever I want. Quiet to read. Enjoying a snack without sharing. LOL Sounds like an amazing gift.

  5. A few words out of my daughter would be the best Mother’s Day gift ever.

  6. I gave my husband some help this year and said “Get me a Macy’s gift card.”
This way I can go get the makeup I like or maybe a few accessories.

  7. I’d be completely content with an hours long nap!

  8. I don’t mind spending time with family. I feel guilty when I’m taking time to myself. What I would really like is a day where the kids don’t argue or poke at each other. Just one whole day.

  9. 24 hours alone? I wouldn’t know what to do with myself! I really want a nap and some treats. 🙂

  10. I totally understand. There is nothing like an empty house free of noise so I can rest, relax and read.
