Donate to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

I have been compensated for this post however all thoughts and opinions are my own. All statistical information and the Walmart gift card have been provided by P&G.

Whether they suffer from common childhood afflictions like asthma and broken bones, or fight bigger challenges like birth defects or cancer, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids. As you may know, my real job is a pediatric intensive care nurse. Though I do not work at a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, the hospital at which I work frequently partners with Gillette Children’s Hospital which is a Network hospital.

Why do we partner with them? Because, though my hospital is excellent at a lot of things, we can’t be excellent at everything. Rehab and orthotics are two of the things with which we partner with Gillette. They are the Twin Cities’ only pediatric comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation program certified by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Without Gillette Children’s Hospital, many of my patients would not make a full recovery. My hospital can save a child’s life but recovery is not complete until that child is as physically close to the way they were before they became ill or had an accident as possible. I’ve seen more than one of my patients transfer to Gillette unable to sit up by themselves and return to show off that they are now walking! The work Gillette does is beyond words!

I also have Gillette to thank for fitting my patients with anything from simple orthotics to specialized wheelchairs. Without those, caring for a child with disabilities is difficult. I love seeing the look on a parent’s face when a specialized, fitted wheelchair is delivered for their child and their child finally becomes mobile.

To show support for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the one in 10 kids in North America who are treated by them each year, Walmart and Pampers have teamed up to donate $200,000 in the month of June. Additionally, by purchasing products like Pampers Swaddlers at your local Walmart, portions of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Visit Walmart.com/cmnh for more information and to make your own donation. Your support helps provide 32 million patient visits for 10 million kids every year.

To help jump-start your purchases of participating products (such as Pampers Swaddlers), Walmart is giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky Toys In The Dryer reader! Enter below!
