This paid post is brought to you by the new free Oral-B Disney Timer App as part of a Type-A Parent Community Sponsored Post. If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that a few weeks ago I posted this picture with the caption, "Ok, maybe this isn't the best way to get her to brush her teeth." Thought this photo was a joke, we all know how hard it can be to get our kids to brush their teeth (especially for the two full recommended minutes). Oral B, Crest, and Disney understand so they've teamed up to create the free Oral-B Disney Timer App. To unlock the fun, all you need is a Crest or Oral-B Pro-Health Stages product. Scan it with your smart device and have your kids start brushing. As they brush, a hidden picture will be revealed. When the picture is revealed they get a sticker for their magic albums. The more your kids brush, the more stickers they collect in their albums. Dental hygiene is finally fun! After using the app for the first time, both Nutty and Tottie … [Read more...]

Duraflame® encourages us to read as a family #Ad
National Read Across America Day was March 2nd, Dr. Seuss's birthday. Though I'm a little late to the party, I, and Duraflame® fire logs, would like to remind you that you don't need a day to encourage you to read as a family. Spending time reading together is important any day of the year! Duraflame® sent my family a wonderful package containing a fire log, hot chocolate, and Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax" book so that we could sit down by the fire and read together. With temps still dipping into the 10°F range in Minnesota, it was a welcome parcel! It actually isn't all that unusual for us to sit by the fire as a family. Sometimes we read, sometimes we play games, and other times we just hang out and chat. My girls, however, love to read. Snuggling on their over-sized pillows with Hubby or me (or both) and listening to stories is a great way to calm down before bed. Watching the flames of the fire and listening to the snaps and pops is also quite soothing. I was impressed … [Read more...]
You’ve Been Egged
My family is lucky enough to live in an AWESOME neighborhood. My neighbors regularly get together for fun things and have a minimum of two block parties a year. We could not be happier with where we live. Because our neighborhood is so fun, a few years ago my girls and I started "You've Been Boo'd" at Halloween time. It was a huge success and everyone really got into it. This year we decided to do something different with "You've Been Egged!" for Easter. You've Been Egged is similar to Boo'd in the fact that it is still a ding-dong and ditch thing but instead of just leaving treats on your neighbor's door, you hide eggs in their yard. Both adults and kids can have fun with this. The only problem is hiding the eggs without getting caught! To "Egg" your neighbors, you'll need: 10 fillable plastic eggs treats to put in the eggs (candy or non-candy) a copy of the "You've Been Egged" sheet (see below to download) 1) Fill the plastic eggs with treats 2) Sneak into … [Read more...]
Two week countdown! #Brandcation #SeasTheDay
Two short weeks from today I will be joining 39 fellow bloggers aboard Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas for Brandfluential's 6th Brandcation, #SeasTheDay! I can not begin to describe my excitement! 5 days, 4 nights of fun and sun without the hubby or the kids, but with people who "get blogging". I can not wait to learn more about being a better blogger and about Royal Caribbean while working on my tan and experiencing all that Liberty of the Seas has to offer. Before I go on, let me disclose two things: 1) Royal Caribbean is sponsoring this cruise for us in exchange for blogging about our experience with them and sharing our adventures via social media while we are on the cruise. Despite this, all thoughts, opinions, experiences/adventures I post will be my own. 2) All photos in this post are credited to Royal Caribbean and are used with their permission. Now that I've disclosed those two things, let's move on... Just look at this ship! Doesn't it look amazing?! At 1,112 … [Read more...]
Cutest Sleeping Baby Contest #ad
Sleeping babies are one of the cutest, most peaceful things you will ever see. Levana monitors help you focus on that cute peacefulness instead of worrying while your baby sleeps. To bring awareness of their awesome monitors, they are hosting a "Cutest Sleeping Baby Contest." I was given a Oma+™ monitor to review as part of a campaign to promote Levana's "Cutest Sleeping Baby Contest." As most of my regular readers know, my girls are beyond the baby stage. However, my neighbor had her baby just one week ago and was more than happy to give me her thoughts on the monitor! Upon opening the package that came in the mail, both my neighbor and I thought the monitor was much smaller and lighter than we thought it would be. After using it for a few days, my neighbor says she definitely likes it better than the "under the mattress monitor" that she had for her son. The Levana monitor is "not nearly as annoyingly sensitive" as the other monitor. The other monitor would constantly beep … [Read more...]
