Family Camping On A Boat

Two years ago our family bought a 25 foot boat with a full cuddy including a bed, small kitchen area, and small bathroom. After having a 19 foot fish-and-ski for a few years we decided to upgrade to something a little more family friendly. What we didn't realize when we purchased the bigger boat is how many wonderful family memories we would make on it. We bought the boat late in the summer of the first year so we spent most of that summer just learning the ropes of it and cruising around the lake and up and down the river. Last summer was our first time camping with it. We spent two nights beached on an island in the St. Croix river. The whole family loved it. This year hubby and I planned our schedules so we could take a four day camping trip on the river. As Mother Nature would have it, it's been raining galore in our area and the river is flooded out. All the lakes in the area are flooded also. The girls were disappointed that we would not be taking our trip. So...I … [Read more...]

AirForce BlowGuns™ – A Review

When I was contacted by the owners of AirForce BlowGuns™ to do a review, I knew immediately that my youngest daughter and my husband would love them. This would be an easy review to write. Unfortunately, my girls left for a week long vacation with Grandma and Grandpa just hours before the gun was delivered to our door. No problem, I grabbed the closest thing to a kid in my house, my husband, to do an initial review. He took one look at the AirForce BlowGun™ in the box and said, "this looks dumb." "Just try it," I said. "Fine, whatever..." He picked it up, put in a dart, opened the patio door, and took a shot. That was it, that was the end of my life as I knew it... For the rest of the day (and week, for that matter) he randomly shot things around the house and out in the yard (including me a few times!). He wouldn't really admit it, but he was having way too much fun with it. The gun was sitting out on the kitchen table when my girls arrived home from their … [Read more...]

How to Train Your Dragon 2 in IMAX 3D

I don't know about your family, but my girls and I loved the first How to Train Your Dragon. We are excited that How to Train Your Dragon 2 is coming out in theaters and can't wait to see it. Now we'll get the chance to watch it in IMAX 3D thanks to IMAX (who is providing us tickets in exchange for sharing this with you). Starting this Friday, June 13th, the second chapter of DreamWorks Animation's beloved How to Train Your Dragon franchise is soaring to all IMAX theatres domestically in select engagements. The IMAX 3D release will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience®, creating a unique environment that will make audiences feel as though they are flying alongside heroic Viking Hiccup and his faithful dragon, Toothless. Can you imagine feeling like you are flying with the dragons?! I think it's going to be awesome! For more information about How to Train Your Dragon 2, please visit DreamWorks Animation's official website. For … [Read more...]

The Journey To Find Myself

I'm tired. I'm tired of my lack of motivation, I'm tired of being crabby, I'm tired of my clothes getting tighter. I'm just tired. I know what I need to do and there is NO MORE EXCUSES. No more "I'll start tomorrow," no more "but...". No more. This afternoon I start my path to feeling better. This afternoon I pick myself up, I get off the couch and go for a walk, eat fruit instead of a brownie, go get the Fitbit I bought off of Craigslist, log the food I ate in My Fitness Pal. This afternoon it begins... This is me. All 163 lbs, size 12 is getting tight, me. I'm putting this photo out there as motivation. Motivation to gain back the person I used to be. Not the 125 lb, size 6 person I was when I got married (and before kids). The happy-go-lucky, always up for doing something, me. The person who hated sitting at home on the couch alone. The person who wanted to throw parties like her mom did for friends. The person who didn't yell at her kids because she was lazy. The person I … [Read more...]

First Father’s Day Coupons From Baby

As I was writing the intro to my Father's Day Coupon Book on Monday I realized that there are a ton of versions of printable coupons for Dad, however, none were appropriate to give for a first Father's Day. After all, the majority of coupons involve things such as taking out the trash, back rubs, and controlling the remote. Those are great for older children to give to dad, but babies can't fulfill those tasks. So...I made first Father's Day Coupons from baby - perfect to give a dad on his first Father's Day! Of course, babies can't technically fulfill these tasks by themselves either, but they are definitely more fitting than the other coupons I made. Just print out the pages below, cut them in half on the solid line in the middle, and staple together. It’s super easy! One page has blank coupons so you can make your own personal ones. For even more personalization, put your child's hand or foot prints on the blank side of the cover paper. Please note, when downloading the … [Read more...]
