If you've been reading Toys In The Dryer since last year, you know that I was all excited about the movie Paranorman. This year, the makers of Paranorman have come out with a new movie called The Boxtrolls. If the animation is anything like Paranorman, it's going to be AWESOME! The Boxtrolls is another stop-motion animation from LAIKA and Focus Features. Yes, more than 20,000 props were hand made and hand manipulated to make this film. It took animators an average of 1 week to make 3.7 seconds of film which is about 90 frames (or photos). Crazy huh? Wondering what The Boxtrolls is about? We KNOW you’ll love Despicable Me 2!
We interrupt our normal posting schedule to bring you news about Despicable Me 2! Did your family love the original Despicable Me? Then we guarantee you'll love the second as well! More Minions and just as much humor as the first is less than 48 hours from hitting theaters! A few days ago my family was given the chance to see an advanced screening of Despicable Me 2. I'm not sure who was more thrilled, Hubby, the kids, or me. We all loved Despicable Me (the first one) because the minions were cute and the humor was great, but not crass or overly adult-ish. We had high hopes for Despicable Me 2 and we were not disappointed! Minions, definitely more Minions! And, let me tell you, yellow is not the only color they are in this movie! That's all I'm going to say about that. The plot? Predictable, but who cares? We didn't want to see it for the mystery. We wanted the humor and cuteness. An Interview with the Directors of "Paranorman" and a Giveaway!
There's only 2 days left until the new animated movie by LAIKA, "Paranorman", hits theaters! Yep, that's right, "Paranorman" opens nationwide on August 17, 2012. No doubt you've seen the commercials for it on TV, heard sound bites on the radio, or viewed the trailer in the theaters. If you've been living under a rock without TV, radio, or the movie theater, and have no clue what I'm talking about, see the official trailer below. Jamie was lucky enough to get a press screening of the movie and was even luckier to get an interview with the directors, Sam Fell and Chris Butler!
