Two years ago, when I was blogging as Mommy’s Camera, I won a trip to the GE® Monogram Experience Center in Louisville, KY (click the link to read my first post about it). The trip was WAY beyond my expectations and something I will never forget. I met some awesome women (second post) and stayed at a super fun hotel (third post, yes, it was so fun I wrote THREE posts about it!!).
I have maintained a good relationship with GE® Appliances since that trip so when my dishwasher died a few weeks ago, my friends at GE® were the first people I emailed for advice about a new one (I’m lazy and did not want to do a lot of research). As luck would have it, they put me on their “Clean Team” and let me try one of their latest and greatest models, the GE® Hybrid Stainless Steel Interior Dishwasher!
Over the next few months you’ll be hearing a little bit about my experience with the dishwasher, how it fits into my life with my kids, and what I do (and don’t) like about it. Let’s start with the obvious though…
I have no clue how old my previous dishwasher was. It came with the house when we bought it in 2005. It was old then… Compared to my new GE® Dishwasher:
- Stainless vs. black–more modern and fits my kitchen better
- 3 wash arms vs 2–more cleaning power!
- Better layout to fit more things
- Digital controls that are on top vs the front–less likely the girls will play with them
Those are just the obvious differences. I could go on and on but we’ll save that for future posts…
GE Appliances provided me with the dishwasher to review and keep. The thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
Hi Jamie,
I read your review of your new GE Hybrid dishwasher. Very helpful, and I’ve decided to do as many as possible GE Profile appliances in our kitchen remodeling, in progress now. Problem: I love all the GE Profile wall oven, cooktop, microwave, and GE dishwasher you describe. However, the GE Profile counterdepth French door refrigerator that matches all the rest, has gotten bad reviews online !! I read dozens about too loud, runs too much, bad ice maker, etc. Then, a friend has Samsung comparable and loves it. How do I compromise so all the appliance handles and design match, and still get a frig that is super well rated? Any ideas?
Jeanne,
I’m sorry for your problem. I don’t know much about the refrigerators as I reviewed a dishwasher. I do know that GE has tried to make their handles “matchable”. They went with a handle that should match most of the rest of their appliances so that you can mix and match. I’m not sure about Samsung. I would just go with what you like and works best for you but I do LOVE my GE appliances!
Hi Jamie,
Thanks so much for your quick response. I’ll do a bit more research online to see if there’s a new GE Profile French door frig that has good reviews for noise, etc., and if not, I have to decide in the next few weeks, and will probably get the Samsung that’s so highly rated and not worry about matchy handles!! Good advice. Have a good day.
Jeanne
