I admit it, I don’t do much as far as my hair and make up go. I rarely wear full-blown make up any more and I’m a wash, dry, brush once, and go type of girl when it comes to my hair. When Camille Albane Paris salon reached out to me and asked me if I wanted a complimentary mommy makeover to help spread the word about their new Maple Grove, MN store, I jumped on the opportunity! Why not?
Camille Albane Paris is a bold, dynamic, feminine salon brand known for its elite industry expertise, superior service, innovative products and top talent. It has nearly 300 salons in 11 countries. Last month it opened its second U.S. location in Maple Grove, Minnesota (it’s first US location is in Boston, MA). I’m so excited to be one of the bloggers chosen to get a mommy makeover at the second ever U.S. location!
This is my “before” selfie. Yup. Me on a typical day except I’m wearing a bit of makeup. I didn’t want to look horrible when I walked into a high-end salon. High end (but not intimidating) it is! Everything is crisp and white and clean. Not because it’s new, but because that’s how salons look in Paris. My stylist, Tami, the manager, even wore a white apron.
I told Tami to do whatever she wanted to me. She’s the expert and I was up for anything. I did, however, know that I wanted my hair a little more copper colored that was. Tami said that Paris style is all about “effortless beauty” and keeping it simple. She said that my hairstyle already fit my face, and that I could definitely get away with bangs I had. So as far as the cut goes, she didn’t change much. Just a little trim, and fixing the layers according to the way they do things in Paris (making things heavy on the bottom and light on the top, opposite of what they do here).
She kept my same color hue, just added a little more copper tone. She did this because I don’t color my hair often and it won’t look odd if I decide not to keep it up. Again, not a huge change but enough to make me happy and for my friends to question if I colored my hair or not.
The style is what I loved the most about this mommy makeover. It’s definitely “effortless beauty” and something I can quickly and easily do on my own when I go out. Twist, then curl, my hair. Don’t use the clamp thing on the curling iron, wrap the hair around the barrel instead. Simple makeup topped off my look.
Do it myself? Yes, I think I did a pretty good job! This might be one of the ONLY hair styles that I could copy from the salon without a huge amount of frustration.
Do you live in Boston or in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota (or near one in your country)? I highly suggest you check out Camille Albane Paris salon for your next mommy makeover!
