Have you ever heard of Borax? In all honesty I have been using it for years. With four kids in this house (not to mention a husband) our laundry needs all the help it can get. A lot of people call me "crunchy," in other words I like to use things that are natural or organic. Borax is completely natural! Borax is the common name for sodium tetraborate....it's a substance that occurs naturally by the the constant evaporation of lake water. If you think about it, nature often makes the perfect things for us....whenever they occur naturally I think "hmmm, there must be a reason why nature made it." When you use Borax you can rest assure that nothing is added to it...nothing! No chemicals, no chlorine, no phosphates, no sulfates. Borax has many uses too! I posted on our Facebook page "I've heard of people using Borax in their laundry....what else do you use it for? Today I added a 1/4 cup to my dishwasher and ended up with spot LESS glasses!" I was shocked by all the responses I got. … [Read more...]
Kidecals- delightfully versatile, crazy durable #spon
Do you have a kid with allergies? One that has tons of sports equipment? Or just many kids? Then look no further because Kidecals is what you need! I happen to fit into all three of the aforementioned families. I have four kids, I have four kids in sports, and I have a kiddo with a serious allergy. This summer we decided not to enroll our twins in summer preschool. We thought that the fact that it's their last summer before school begins we'd let them partake in fun summer adventures. Fun right? Yes, however it does pose an issue and create a little anxiety for me. My son (one of the twins) is seriously allergic to bee stings. Like SERIOUS allergy....like call 911 type allergy. We have a fancy epi pen for him if the event were to ever occur and I feel confident that my husband and I could safely execute the safety plan in place for him. Now that he's involved in all of these amazing summer adventures I will admit I am freaked out! What if he gets stung and I'm not there? What if the … [Read more...]
White Cloud Luxuriously Soft Bath Tissue #Spon
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of White Cloud. All opinions are 100% mine. Yup, we're talking toilet paper today and it's going to get a bit personal... I've got my favorite brand of toilet paper. I thought it was thick and soft, and absorbent. I think I may have been wrong... (For some odd reason, I could not get the video to upload so please click on the link to watch it) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3QHHFp4t6LEWXA3NVpERmR6UFk/edit?usp=sharing White Cloud Luxuriously Soft bath tissue is sold exclusively at Walmart stores. It is premium toilet paper without the premium price. White Cloud Luxuriously Soft bath tissue is made using an innovative manufacturing process called "Through Air Dried" or "TAD" in which a special machine blows air through single-ply sheets creating a two-ply product with thickness, softness, strength, and absorption. As my video says, I was impressed with the White Cloud. I was surprised when I grabbed a sheet and … [Read more...]
Time For Yourself…#QuakerEpicAdventures #Spon
With summer break starting for the majority of families it will be harder and harder for moms to carve out a little bit of time for themselves. I know I'm going to miss those 2.5 hours of "me time" on Tuesdays and Thursdays when Nutty was at school and Tottie was at preschool! (Please note that the cookies in this photo are the Quaker® Chocolate Almond cookies because my family ate all the plain chocolate chip ones before I could get a photo) Now, this may be TMI (too much information), but I have been guilty of taking an extra long time "going to the bathroom" just to get away from my screaming girls. I've also been guilty of sneaking snacks such as Quaker® Chocolate Chip Cookies into the bathroom with me just to get that 5-10 minute break. With only 170 calories and 10 grams of whole grains per serving, I don't feel guilty about eating something sweet while trying to watch my intake. I know I'm not the only one who uses the bathroom excuse for their "me time"! Come on, … [Read more...]
VISIT FLORIDA #spon
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of VISIT FLORIDA. All opinions are 100% mine. This coming August Hubby and I are taking a cruise. Key West Florida is one of the stops on the cruise and I can not wait to go! I mean, just look at this...! Hubby has never been to Florida. I have been a few times. My favorite, however, was the spring break I spent in Pensacola during college. We road-tripped straight through from Minnesota to Pensacola only stopping for gas and to change drivers so we could sleep. (I quickly learned how to drive a stick-shift car!) The weather was perfect as we slept in tents just off the beach. We were in a remote area so we were away from the hustle and bustle of spring break party crowds. It was the most relaxing time I ever had in college. The only downfall, my body was not used to the intense Florida sun and I ended up getting sun poisioning. I had to go to the doctor in the morning and spent one whole day in my tent with … [Read more...]
Kids Bowl FREE Summer Program
Yes, you read the title right...kids bowl FREE during the summer! I don't know when your kids get out of school for the summer but Tottie's preschool ended yesterday and Nutty's first grade ends in 2 weeks. We don't have a lot of activities planned for the summer but that doesn't mean my girls won't be occupied... One of the ways we plan to stay busy is with the Kids Bowl Free program. This program was designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer. There are tons of bowling centers across the US participating in the program and even some in Canada!! Families can get two free games for up to six children per day (valued at over $500 per child), and family packs (up to 4 adults) for the whole summer are $24.95. You read that right...a cheap way to do something fun this summer! It's also great for those days when it's just to hot to play outside!! For more information about the Kids Bowl … [Read more...]
