Have you seen the commercials for The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas? Did you watch it when it debuted on TV a few days ago? If not, you are missing out!Lindsi--Let me start by saying my daughter does NOT watch TV. I can't get her to sit down and watch an entire show (so I can get things done) for the life of me (or her!). I put in The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas for movie night for my kids and all of them (including my daughter) were enthralled through the whole thing! They even asked to watch it again!Jamie--We watched The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas the night we received it in the mail. Both my girls loved it and were dancing along to the songs. The only complaint my 4 year old had was, "Mom, it's not close enough to Christmas to watch this." Thanksgiving we went to my in-laws house and it was on TV. My girls went on and on about how they owned the movie so they could watch it again. My nephew was jealous!Both--We loved the movie … [Read more...]
Pillow[ology] by Sleep Number
Ok Lindsi and Jamie, isn't it Monday? Aren't you suppose to be doing an activity post? Why are you talking about pillows on an activity day? Please click to make bigger. Let us explain...According to WebMD, "Pillows can not only impact the quality of our sleep, but also how healthfully we rest and recharge." According to us, and based on common sense, if you aren't rested and recharged, you can't spend quality time with, or do activities with your kids. Both of us have slept on some BAD pillows and we've woken up with headaches and sore necks. We live out the next day, or two, drugged up on ibuprofen (or something stronger) and can barely get by, let alone, do extra activities with our kids. Sleep Number knows that not only does your bed make a difference in your sleep, your pillow does too. That's why they've come up Pillow[ology] to help you find your perfect pillow so you can rest and have energy to do things with your kids. We had a chance to visit our local Sleep … [Read more...]
An Interview with the Directors of "Paranorman" and a Giveaway!
There's only 2 days left until the new animated movie by LAIKA, "Paranorman", hits theaters! Yep, that's right, "Paranorman" opens nationwide on August 17, 2012. No doubt you've seen the commercials for it on TV, heard sound bites on the radio, or viewed the trailer in the theaters. If you've been living under a rock without TV, radio, or the movie theater, and have no clue what I'm talking about, see the official trailer below. Jamie was lucky enough to get a press screening of the movie and was even luckier to get an interview with the directors, Sam Fell and Chris Butler! I would throw in a huge "EEEKKK!" here but that would sound unprofessional. Lets start however, with what's so special about LAIKA and "Paranorman". I mean, what's all the hype? It's just another animated movie, right? Wrong! LAIKA produced the Academy Award-nominated movie "Coraline", it's first stop-motion movie. What is stop-motion animation? Well, according to Wikipedia, stop-motion … [Read more...]
I’m a #DontSweatMom! You can be one too–Giveaway
A few weeks ago I (Jamie) decided to join the campaign to become a Don't Sweat Mom. What is the Don't Sweat Mom campaign? It is based on the book "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff For Moms" by Kristine Carlson. The campaign is creating a community of moms that are coming together to stress less and choose happiness more. It’s about finding our joy in everyday parenting. As Colorado Mountain Mom said in her book review, I too had a little blogger regret after I signed up for this campaign. Like her, I didn't think I was going to have time to read the book. I quickly discovered, however, that the book was broken up into short, easy to read chapters. It doesn't have any particular flow, so it's convenient to simply pick the chapters that you want to read and skip around. In fact, this blog post has taken me MUCH longer to write than actually reading the book! There were many chapters in "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff For Moms" that struck a cord with me. "Make Special Mommy & Me … [Read more...]
#EclosBeauty Skin Care Review and Giveaway!
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of éclos Skin Care for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. As a mom, how often do you take time (and money) to pamper and take care of yourself, especially your skin? I know I don't take a lot of time or spend a lot of money. Skin care is something I totally lack on! In my defense however, I've been told by more than one skin care expert that I have "perfect" and "healthy" skin. I guess for me, less is more! I am however, always up for tyring new products, especially cheap ones! I was given the opportunity to try éclos Skin Care. I received the the Anti-Aging Skin Care starter kit which contains sample sizes of their complete line: Facial Cleaner Skin Prep Cellular Activator Face Serum Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream Restorative Eye Cream Instant Radiance Facial Scrub Skin Renewal Clay Mask Terry Cloth Head Band To be honest, I was a bit skeptical of this skin care. First because it's resonably … [Read more...]
Wee Gen – Seventh Generation Diapers- AWESOME!
Going green, when it comes to diapers, can mean lots of different things. You could interpret it to mean "I am going to cloth diaper and use cloth wipes" or "biodegradable diapers and biodegradable wipes" or even "disposable diapers that are chemical free." Either way you look at it, it involves a little bit more effort on your end but in my honest opinion totally worth it! My "need to be green" started when my youngest was 3 weeks old. We used the same diapers on him that we had used with our previous three children. We noticed that his poor little bottom was getting redder and redder with every change until at 3 weeks of age is bottom was so raw that we took him to the doctor. He had been diagnosed with a chemical burn from the brand of diapers we had been using. I was horrified! A chemical burn? Really? Yes, really! We had to use 3 different prescription creams to help heal his sweet bottom up and used cloth diapers until he was completely healed. After that experience I did … [Read more...]
