Leprechaun Hunt

We went on a Leprechaun hunt the other day. It wasn't anything fancy but they really enjoyed it. It ended up costing me a whopping 99cents! I bought a package of lucky clover stickers at the store a week ago for 99cents and cut them up into separate stickers. I gave each child their own piece of paper to collect the stickers on too. When they went down for a little rest time the sneaky Leprechaun left stickers all over the house, silly little guy! I made sure to tell him that he needed to leave the same amount of stickers for each child (to avoid an argument.) They loved running through the house looking for stickers. Some were pretty easy to find and some were really hard. I actually forgot where they all ended up so the hunt lasted quite a long time. All in all they each collected 6 stickers. I loved listening to their stories along the way. I heard a lot of encouraging each other, a lot of congratulations for finding one and a few "that silly Leprechaun" comments. I think … [Read more...]

Pinterest Valentine Inspiration

Welcome to day 14 of Fourteen Days of Valentine! From February 1-14 we did non-stop Valentine's posts to celebrate this lovely holiday!  We hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have!  Tomorrow we will return to our regular schedule. Today we're bringing you some awesome stuff we've found on Pinterest that has helped inspire our Valentine's.  Rather than give Pinterest the linky love, we'll be linking you directly to the websites the pins originally came from.  Feel free to pin stuff you like from the original source or find them on our Valentine board and re-pin them from there. I Love You This Much Card from A Day In My Life.  Though this post was originally written for Father's Day, it has been pinned as a Valentine inspiration too.  These are perfect for mothers, fathers, grandparents or other family members!  Make them look more like Valentines by using pink or red paper. A Visit From The Love Bugs

Welcome to day 12 of Toys In The Dryer 14 Days of Valentines! From February 1-14 we'll be doing non-stop Valentines posts to celebrate this lovely holiday! I saw this idea on the Disney Family Fun website a couple of days ago and wish I would have seen it earlier this month!  Though it's not an original idea of mine, I thought it was too good not to pass on...It's visits from the Love Bugs before Valentine's Day!  I came up with a few different versions of the Love Bugs so you have ideas of what to do with them. Version 1: The Love Bugs are a family of bugs that visit your house every night beginning February 1st and leave treats such as Hershey's kisses, Valentine M&M's, or heart chocolates, and notes for your kids.  Your children never see the bugs but know they've visited from the things they leave behind.  On Valentine's Day the Love Bugs leave a special larger treat for your kids then leave until next year.  (This version is similar to the one I saw.  Click on the link … [Read more...]

14 days of Valentine’s Fun Stuff Fridays (#10)

Remember when Linkys were all the rage in blogging? They were a great way to find and get to know other bloggers before social media and Pinterest became mainstream. It didn't hurt that they brought a ton of traffic to your site too. Lindsi and I started our Fun Stuff Fridays linky back in 2011. We kept it going for 20 weeks before it fizzled out (or we got sick of doing it, I'm not sure which happened). It is now soon to be 2017 and at lot of the links in those linkies no longer exist. Plus, I've let my link up subscription lapse so you can't get to them anyway. Instead of deleting the Fun Stuff Fridays posts, however, I have decided to clean them up and make sure our featured links are still valid. After all, on a rare occasion I get traffic from one of these old posts. The linky may be gone but the featured posts are still valid as of December 2016... Welcome to day10 of Toys In The Dryer 14 Days of Valentines! Welcome to Fun Stuff Fridays, Valentine's edition. Holy … [Read more...]
