It's nearing the end of February. How have your New Year's resolutions been going? Are you still going strong or have they fizzled out? Gordmans wants to remind you that it's not too late to have a new year, new you. Back in August I partnered with Gordmans to talk about Back To School Shopping. In that post, I said that I had never been to Gordmans before but we'd definitely be going back. I didn't lie. Gordmans is now one of our favorite stores to shop! I've turned many friends on to the store too. Their styles are awesome and their prices are definitely reasonable. (Excuse the horrible dressing room selfies. I have yet to learn how to take full-body selfies and the lighting wasn't great either.) That brings me back to New Year, New You. If you made a resolution to lose weight this year and it's going well, you are no doubt in need of some smaller sized clothes by now. Gordmans is the perfect place to shop for those clothes. They've got a great selection of both casual … [Read more...]

Beethoven’s Treasure Tail Movie #Giveaway
Just in time for Christmas shopping, win a copy of the newest movie in the Beethoven line, Beethoven's Treasure Tail! My girls are huge fans of the Beethoven movies. The original Beethoven movie and Beethoven's Christmas Adventure are two of their favorites. However, Beethoven's 5th has been watched in our house so many times, I think I have the movie memorized! Now for the holidays, Universal Home Entertainment announces the October 28th Blu-Ray and DVD release of the newest saga, Beethoven's Treasure Tail! If it's anything like the previous movies, it will be a new favorite in my household. Here's the synopsis: Get ready to howl with laughter in this all-new family comedy starring America’s favorite St. Bernard, the one and only Beethoven! After a doggone disaster of a movie shoot, the big-hearted pooch and his trainer, Eddie (Jonathan Silverman, Beethoven’s Big Break), are heading home when they get stranded in a small coastal village. When Beethoven befriends a local boy … [Read more...]
Boxtrolls Movie #Giveaway!
If you've been reading Toys In The Dryer since last year, you know that I was all excited about the movie Paranorman. This year, the makers of Paranorman have come out with a new movie called The Boxtrolls. If the animation is anything like Paranorman, it's going to be AWESOME! The Boxtrolls is another stop-motion animation from LAIKA and Focus Features. Yes, more than 20,000 props were hand made and hand manipulated to make this film. It took animators an average of 1 week to make 3.7 seconds of film which is about 90 frames (or photos). Crazy huh? Wondering what The Boxtrolls is about? Here's the official synopsis: A family event movie from the creators of “Coraline” and “ParaNorman” that introduces audiences to a new breed of family – The Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who have lovingly raised a human boy named Eggs (voiced by Isaac Hempstead Wright) in the amazing cavernous home they’ve built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. When the town’s … [Read more...]
Back To School Shopping With Gordmans #Giveaway #ad
When Gordmans contacted me to partner with them to promote back to school shopping. I was all over it. The provided me with a gift card and the girls and I went to town! To be honest, I had seen Gordmans in our local mall but until now, had never actually shopped there. I don't know why. After this first trip, we will definitely be going back! Both Nutty and Tottie are picky when it comes to clothes shopping, especially Nutty. Shopping with her can be torture. I don't know if it's just this year's styles or Gordmans themselves, but Nutty had NO problems finding clothes she liked at Gordmans. She narrowed her selection to two shirts, a pair of pants, and a pair of boots. Tottie, who was less than cooperative for photos and shopping, immediately found a My Little Pony outfit and decided she was done. She would have liked a pair of boots too but the ones she liked were not in her size. Oh well. We'll be back to Gordmans for more Back To School shopping another … [Read more...]
VTech Kidizoom® Smartwatch #Review and Giveaway
It's no secret that we love VTech products so when they contacted us again to review their new Kidizoom® smartwatch, we immediately said yes! What is the Kidizoom® smartwatch you ask? Only the "coolest watch ever" according to my girls. "Mom, it's like spy stuff!" Ok, I'll be completely honest, my 8-year-old thought it was pretty "lame" when she first took a look at it. After all, she is on the higher end of the age range for this product. However, after watching her 5-year-old sister playing with it and loving it, she thought she would give it a try. Shortly after began the constant fights over who got to wear it, and use it when. I ended up having to take the watch away for an entire 24 hours just to stop the fighting! The novelty of having it wore off after three days and now they happily share it. Both girls think the watch is big for their wrist but that doesn't stop them from wanting to play with it. The pre-loaded games are a bit too easy for my 8-year-old but … [Read more...]
