Disney Countdown Ring

Now I am not taking credit for creating this...although I tried to make my own...after a few hours I tossed in my hat and called it a day.  I emailed the creator of this awesome paper ring countdown and I never heard back about it but since it was all over the internet I figured it was fair game. Either way, I'm happy to share it with you! Print each sheet on thick card stock paper at your local copy store (or at home if you want to spend the money on the ink). Cut them out and begin tearing off a ring each day (there are 128 days in this ring counter) and have fun! See if you can name each character or the movie...I bet you can't! … [Read more...]

If you have been a faithful follower of this blog you will know that I am a big time planner! This Disney trip that we're taking has been a lot of fun for me because there are tons of details I can plan to make it even more special for my kids. It's almost like planning a wedding where you can fine tune all the details to make the event incredibly memorable. I purchased the above ADORABLE outfit from a sweet gal who owns Princess Gianna Boutique. She is offering all of our readers 10% off their purchase during this week of Disney!!! Be sure to check her page out, like it, and drool over the adorable finds! She has way more than just Disney too!!! Each day we are there I have a different outfit planned out for my family. We are also going with some good friends and their daughter so I was sure to include them in my obsessive planning. I made shirts for the mommy's and the daddy's using the same technique in my tutorial on How to make an applique shirt. My daughter is obsessed … [Read more...]

Minnie Mouse Nails

Our Cinderella Nails post caught the eye of a great deal of people and we love that! We love that so much that we thought we'd share another EASY and fun way to make your nails festive for your Disney trip! Minnie Mouse nails!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup, that adorable mouse can be captured on your or your daughters fingernails! It's really easy to do. Here is what you will need: Apply the red polish to the entire nail bed and let dry completely before moving on to the next step. Next use your dotting tool (I use a plastic knitting needle) and create dots on your red fingernails. Once the white dots have dried you can begin on the black bow. Make a little bit larger dot with the black polish near the tip of your nail. The "draw in" a triangle on each side of the black dot you've just created. Apply a clear top coat to protect the design and keep it looking great for days to come.  I hope you will give this a try and let us know how you did! … [Read more...]

Character Applique Shirts for Disney

If you've been following our blog for a while you know how much I love to sew. Yes, it is true- I sew A LOT! I found some ADORABLE Disney princess shirts for sale on Etsy a few weeks ago but I seriously couldn't stomach the thought of paying $35-$55 for ONE shirt. Guess who came to the rescue? My husband! He owns his own business and he was able to get me a handful of plain white shirts for me to be crafty and creative with.  The shirts arrived and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with each one! I purchased some iron-on appliques of each Disney princess and began looking for the correct fonts for the names. Each character has their name in the font that Disney chose to use. I simply followed my instructions HERE and got to work. I simply cut out each name of the princesses I wanted to make and attached them to the shirts using a bonding material. I added extra security to the letters by stitching them into place. I hope that these shirts will inspire you to create your own and that … [Read more...]

Personalized Disney Water Bottles

Welcome to our week of Disney! We will have five fantastic Disney inspired posts for you this week and a few giveaways! Make sure you come back each day and enter! Last week at Target, in the dollar section, I found these awesome water bottles. They are red with black tops- PERFECT for what I had in mind! (Honestly, I was just about to purchase some custom water bottles on Etsy for $9.99 each!). I spent $3 on each bottle, and purchased five (I have four kids and my neighbor is coming with us to Walt Disney World so I made one for her as well.) I just happen to have a Cricut Die Cutting machine and knew exactly what I was going to do. I grabbed my Mickey Mouse cartridge and began cutting out the kids names in Disney font. For those who do not have the ability to do this you have a couple of options: you can purchase vinyl letters in Disney font on Etsy for a fairly cheap price, you can cut them out on your own using sharp scissors and some sticky vinyl, or you can make a stencil out … [Read more...]
