How to Make Smores Quesadillas

We've made it no secret that we love Smore's around here. We've made Cookies, Croissants, Unique Bites, a Giant Smore Cake, and even a round-up of 12 Unique Smore Recipes. Today, we're doing yet another recipe, Smore Quesadillas! The girls LOVED these and they are ridiculously easy to make. You only need three ingredients! Mini marshmallows Milk chocolate chocolate chips Tortillas 1) Put one tortilla in a heated frying pan 2) Sprinkle with chocolate chips and marshmallows 3) Top with another tortilla 4) When the chocolate chips begin to melt, flip the whole thing over 5) Let it melt a little more and then remove from the heat 6) Cut into 4 sections (a pizza cutter works great for this!) 7) Serve immediately (Excuse the horrible photo above, I tried to snap a photo of the girls eating these put my camera battery died so I had to use my cell phone) If done correctly, these smores quesadillas are just as messy, if not messier, than the … [Read more...]

10 Fall Treats, Activities, and Crafts for Kids

Toys In The Dryer turned 3 at the beginning of the month. This got me thinking that there a ton of posts that have been forgotten as new posts have taken their place over the years. It's time to bring back some of my favorite fall treats, activities, and crafts for kids that we have posted over the last 3 years.   Fall Leaf Fairies - Make cute fairy pictures from fallen leaves and twigs. These hung in our kitchen for weeks! Each year gets a little more crazy! Leaf Drawing - I did this all the time as a kid. Now my kids do it!     Crock Pot Applesauce - Perfect for all those apples you've picked at the apple orchard! Leaf Animals - Similar to the leaf fairies, my girls had a ton of fun making … [Read more...]

Sun Made Iced Tea

I've said before that I liked tea parties when I was younger. In the winter, my mom would make Russian Tea. This past week I was reminded of the Sun Tea that she used to make in the summer. Oh yum! It's such a refreshing drink on a warm day. My girls aren't quite sure they like it but I love it! To make sun tea yourself you'll need: 7 plain black tea bags (do not use iced tea or cold brew, use regular ones) 3 fruit tea bags of your choice Sweetener of your choice Drink dispenser with a spigot Put your tea bags in your dispenser. Fill to the top with water and shut the lid tightly. Let it sit in the sun for the day. After a minimum of 6 hours, stir then remove the tea bags. Sweeten to taste and refrigerate. Enjoy! … [Read more...]

Salted Caramel Krispie Bites

Today I bring you a treat that is incredibly addicting. I could seriously eat the whole pan of them. They are like crack! What are they? Salted Caramel Krispie Bites. The girls thought these were fun to make though they did get a bit bored waiting for the caramel to cook. I found the recipe on Pots and Pins and I'll make you go there for it. I, however, made mine into bites instead of bars. After making the krispie part of the recipe, instead of putting it into a 9 x 13 pan for bars, I had my girls spoon it into mini muffin pans. They spooned just enough to fill the holes and not go over. I had to help a bit because they were being slow and the krispies were starting to harden. Next, we took a wooden spoon and made a hole in the middle of each krispie. Again, do this quickly because the krispies will harden making it more difficult to make the hole. When the caramel was done cooking we poured the caramel into the holes we made then all over the krispies … [Read more...]
