Mommy Makeover

I admit it, I don't do much as far as my hair and make up go. I rarely wear full-blown make up any more and I'm a wash, dry, brush once, and go type of girl when it comes to my hair. When Camille Albane Paris salon reached out to me and asked me if I wanted a complimentary mommy makeover to help spread the word about their new Maple Grove, MN store, I jumped on the opportunity! Why not? Camille Albane Paris is a bold, dynamic, feminine salon brand known for its elite industry expertise, superior service, innovative products and top talent. It has nearly 300 salons in 11 countries. Last month it opened its second U.S. location in Maple Grove, Minnesota (it's first US location is in Boston, MA). I'm so excited to be one of the bloggers chosen to get a mommy makeover at the second ever U.S. location! This is my "before" selfie. Yup. Me on a typical day except I'm wearing a bit of makeup. I didn't want to look horrible when I walked into a high-end salon. High end (but not … [Read more...]

AT&T’s #GoPhone Review

This post is sponsored. All products mentioned and reviewed on this page are compliments of AT&T. All opinions of the products are my own. Last month I had the opportunity to review an AT&T GoPhone. While I've been a loyal customer of the competition for as long as I can remember, I thought it would be interesting to try something new and see how they compare. Thus, despite some hesitation, I decided to give the GoPhone a chance. In a previous post I mentioned some of the benefits of using a GoPhone vs a regular mobile phone. These include no contracts, cheap plans, and other things. I went ahead and compared AT&T's GoPhone to my current service provider's pre-paid plans. While both offer similar benefits and plans, AT&T's most expensive GoPhone plan is $5 cheaper than my service provider's most expensive plan. Hey, $5 is $5 and that can add up over time! The phone I was given to try was the basic AT&T Z998 Android Smartphone. I'm not a super techy … [Read more...]

Mystery Birthday Party with Dramatic Fanatic

Nutty's 8th birthday was a little over a month ago. When we were planning her birthday party we had a hard time trying to figure out what to do. After all, it's hard to top a horseback riding party and a camping party. I'm not sure where she got the idea from, but she decided she wanted a mystery party. I searched the internet high and low trying to figure out how to hold a mystery party for a bunch of 7-9 year old girls and came across Dramatic Fanatic® Downloadable Mystery Parties for Kids. Nutty and I both agreed it looked interesting and were excited when they said "yes" to a review from us! After much debate, Nutty decided to do the Fairy Tale Mystery which included a mystery during a fairy tale fashion show. Nutty carefully chose each of her friends to play a character based on their personality and when the invites went out, each friend was asked to dress as their character. Even I got dressed up as the host of the fashion show! It was so fun to watch each girl … [Read more...]

VTech Kidizoom® Smartwatch #Review and Giveaway

It's no secret that we love VTech products so when they contacted us again to review their new Kidizoom® smartwatch, we immediately said yes! What is the Kidizoom® smartwatch you ask? Only the "coolest watch ever" according to my girls. "Mom, it's like spy stuff!" Ok, I'll be completely honest, my 8-year-old thought it was pretty "lame" when she first took a look at it. After all, she is on the higher end of the age range for this product. However, after watching her 5-year-old sister playing with it and loving it, she thought she would give it a try. Shortly after began the constant fights over who got to wear it, and use it when. I ended up having to take the watch away for an entire 24 hours just to stop the fighting! The novelty of having it wore off after three days and now they happily share it. Both girls think the watch is big for their wrist but that doesn't stop them from wanting to play with it. The pre-loaded games are a bit too easy for my 8-year-old but … [Read more...]

AirForce BlowGuns™ – A Review

When I was contacted by the owners of AirForce BlowGuns™ to do a review, I knew immediately that my youngest daughter and my husband would love them. This would be an easy review to write. Unfortunately, my girls left for a week long vacation with Grandma and Grandpa just hours before the gun was delivered to our door. No problem, I grabbed the closest thing to a kid in my house, my husband, to do an initial review. He took one look at the AirForce BlowGun™ in the box and said, "this looks dumb." "Just try it," I said. "Fine, whatever..." He picked it up, put in a dart, opened the patio door, and took a shot. That was it, that was the end of my life as I knew it... For the rest of the day (and week, for that matter) he randomly shot things around the house and out in the yard (including me a few times!). He wouldn't really admit it, but he was having way too much fun with it. The gun was sitting out on the kitchen table when my girls arrived home from their … [Read more...]
