Landmark Center’s popular Urban Expedition program, which provides families with an opportunity to learn about the world right here in Saint Paul’s backyard, returns for the 11th year. The five individual programs provide authentic cultural experiences that include music, dance, crafts and traditions from different destination countries. Featured countries for the 2015 season are:
Urban Expedition: Austria – Sunday, January 18
Urban Expedition: Lebanon – Sunday, February 1
Urban Expedition: Kenya – Sunday, February 22
Urban Expedition: Indonesia – Sunday, March 8
Urban Expedition: Peru – Sunday, April 19
All programs are from 1 to 3 pm and are FREE and open to the public. Children and adults alike receive a travel “passport” that will be stamped for each country in the series. Along with music and dance, each Urban Expedition features live animals native to the featured country, and co-sponsor Concordia Language Villages will be present to provide language lessons and information about their language camps.
Landmark Center’s 2015 season of Urban Expedition begins with Austria this Sunday. The Center will transform into an Austrian festival with music, dance, food, crafts and live animals. Visitors will enjoy lively dance performances and traditional Austrian music. The program will also feature a brief language and cultural lesson with an opportunity for audience participation.
