When I was contacted by the owners of AirForce BlowGuns™ to do a review, I knew immediately that my youngest daughter and my husband would love them. This would be an easy review to write. Unfortunately, my girls left for a week long vacation with Grandma and Grandpa just hours before the gun was delivered to our door.
No problem, I grabbed the closest thing to a kid in my house, my husband, to do an initial review. He took one look at the AirForce BlowGun™ in the box and said, “this looks dumb.”
“Just try it,” I said.
“Fine, whatever…”
He picked it up, put in a dart, opened the patio door, and took a shot. That was it, that was the end of my life as I knew it…
For the rest of the day (and week, for that matter) he randomly shot things around the house and out in the yard (including me a few times!). He wouldn’t really admit it, but he was having way too much fun with it.
The gun was sitting out on the kitchen table when my girls arrived home from their vacation. To my surprise, it intrigued my oldest daughter as much as my youngest. Daddy took the initiative to show them how to use it, then all three took turns shooting everything and anything they thought the darts would stick to.
Yes, I find these little darts stuck to things ALL OVER THE HOUSE. Above is the mirror above our fireplace, their favorite thing to shoot at. Thank goodness my girls can’t blow that strong or I’d be scared they would break the mirror!
My daughter’s friend even got in on the action and had a blast. Here they are keeping points of how many darts each can get to stick to our garage door.
My family loves the AirForce BlowGuns™. We might just have to get one or two more because they are not easy to share. They only come with one mouth piece so we had to clean it between each person. That’s really about the only con I have.
I’m not sure they really go up to 100 ft in distance like they say. Hubby has a good set of lungs and I don’t think his dart made it 100 ft in any of his attempts. It does blow quite far and strong though! The nice thing is that adults can be a bit rougher with it but because kids don’t have the same lung capacity, they are naturally less of a force. The darts are definitely soft enough, however, that even when hubby hit me with them at full force they didn’t hurt.
Overall, these guns are great. They are simple, non-electronic, and have no moving parts to break. What a great way to bring dad and the girls together for some good-ole fashion fun! You can buy AirForce BlowGuns™ on their website or on Amazon.
Our kids love foam dart guns. We’ve needed to go over a few safety rules before letting them play with them, but these sure look like fun.
