A Fun Way To Floss #NewAgeInWaterFlossing #AD

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Waterpik. All opinions are my own.

I don’t floss. Hubby flosses and my girls floss when he reminds them to but I never have, and I don’t plan to. Flossing hurts and is hard for me because my teeth are so close together. My dentist reminds me every time I visit that flossing is good for my teeth and gums. Ugh, I hate that talk.

My visit to the dentist this past Wednesday, however, went a whole lot different (and better). Why? Because last week I received the Waterpik® Aquarius Professional Water Flosser to try. I was happy to report to my dentist that I have been flossing!

Ok, I’m not flossing in the traditional way. There has been no tricky string to get stuck between my teeth and no pain in my gums. Just a strong, pressurized stream of water easily cleaning between my teeth and around my gums. I can definitely floss this way! It’s actually kinda fun!

I asked both my dental hygienist and my dentist what they thought about the Waterpik® vs regular flossing. Both said that if I’m not going to floss with string, then Waterpik® is definitely the way to go. We’ll see at my next visit in 6 months how much of a difference it makes (a week isn’t really long enough for them to judge especially since I’m still getting used to using it).

Speaking of getting used to it, it does take some time (or maybe it’s just me). I ended up spraying water all over the place the first couple of times I used it! Hubby says it’s a bit loud, especially on the higher settings, but I don’t think it’s any louder than our electric tooth brushes. The only other disadvantages is that it takes up a bit of counter space and the model I received only has a place to store 2 of the 7 heads it came with.

Are any of those reasons for me to not use my new Waterpik® Aquarius Professional Water Flosser? Nope. I am now a flossing girl! As I said before, I think it’s fun to use, it definitely works because I can feel spaces between my teeth after I use it, and it doesn’t hurt! Flossing with water doesn’t hurt! In fact, the massage setting feels good! 10 pressure settings make it easy to find what works for me. P.S. My kids like using the Waterpik® too!

  1. I love my Waterpik. It’s the only way I floss. The string kind hurt my gums.

  2. I have always wondered how these work and now I know! So interesting and I really want to try it!

  3. I hate flossing with string! We have an old Waterpik around here somewhere. I may just dig it out and give it a try again.

  4. This looks like exactly what i need! I would love for the dentist to tell me my teeth look amazing on my next visit

  5. I’ve been looking at the Waterpiks for awhile now. Looks like something I should definitely consider.

  6. I’ve always wondered how these work. I think I would definitely floss more with one of these!

  7. I think I need to buy one of these for my daughter. Her last dentist filled a tooth, and when she tries to floss now, the string gets caught and usually breaks. Yeah. That’s why he’s her ‘last’ dentist. I know she would appreciate it. Thanks!!

  8. I have a Waterpik I’ve used for some time now, and love it.

  9. I almost got my mom something like this for Christmas but wasn’t sure if she’d like it. Good to know you do. I’ll have to tell her! She’s been wanting one!

  10. I have always wondered about this product. I admit to hating flossing, I do it, but begrudgingly! With this it might make it a little more fun

  11. I’ve never even heard of this product until now, but it’s definitely one that has caught my attention. I have very sensitive gums and I also have teeth that are close together. So, I definitely agree with you that flossing with the string is painful and very difficult. Thank you for this detailed review.

  12. I remember seeing a version of these advertised when I was growing up but never owned one. Would love to have one to use now.

  13. This looks like a great way to keep your teeth healthy. I need to floss more often!

  14. I’ve been wondering about those. I’ve had a bunch of work done due to gum disease and was thinking that might really help.

  15. Need! I’m so bad about flossing. 🙁

  16. I totally need this. I hate flossing with floss.

  17. I floss every day and I have really tight teeth, so this would be a lot less annoying and a heck of a lot easier!

  18. Does it make your gums bleed at all?
