VTech® InnoTab® MAX Review and Giveaway

Just in time for Christmas shopping, VTech® introduces the VTech® InnoTab® MAX. As with previous VTech tablets and toys, we were given an InnoTab MAX to review. Though the tablet was provided to us, the thoughts and opinions expressed are our own and we’re here to tell you that this device pulls out all the stops when it comes to learning tablets!

Vtech Innotab Max Review

Two inches larger than it’s predecessor, my girls didn’t really notice it’s 7 inch size. They did, however, notice a nice, larger, higher resolution screen! Other differences include:

  • multi-touch vs single-touch screen
  • double the on-board memory (8GB)
  • faster processing with a dual core vs single core processor (up to 6 times more processing power than previous generations)
  • two more included apps
  • more pixels in the video recorder
  • enhanced 2nd generation version of Premium VTech Kid Connect™ with new features
    • parent-controlled family group chat
    • multi-player game lets kids play with approved contacts on their Kid Connect list
    • Family Bulletin enables family members to post photos and messages to an approved group
    • One Touch Sharing allows parents to post a child’s drawings to Facebook

Of course, with all of those extra things comes a shorter battery life. Oh well, so goes life. At least you can plug it into the wall to recharge!

VTech Innotab MAX review

My girls found the InnoTab MAX just as easy to use as the previous InnoTabs we’ve tried and to be completely honest, they didn’t notice much of a difference other than the larger screen size. Nutty, does however, like the new “sharing features” of the enhanced Kid Connect. She says it’s more like a “real” tablet now. Tottie, being 6, is just learning all the fun of being connected to other people and I like the idea that this tablet controls what is shared and with whom it is shared.

As Nutty said, the Vtech InnoTab MAX is the most like a “real” tablet than all of the other tablets we’ve tried. However, it’s rugged design and parental controls make it much better than a “real” tablet for kids. I really like that I can leave the girls alone with the InnoTab MAX and not worry about them getting into internet trouble with it. I also like that it is educational based so that I know they are not “wasting their time” when they play on it.

Looking for a kid friendly tablet that lets’s your kids experiment with social sharing on the internet while maintaining safety? The Vtech InnoTab MAX is definitely the way to go!
