School Has Started!!

By now I’m pretty sure every child in the US has started school (at least those in public school). Today was supposed to be Nutty’s second day of 3rd grade, Tottie’s first day of Kindergarten, and my first full day alone in a LONG time.

2014 first day shool

Unfortunately, Nutty woke with a headache, fever, and vomiting. There went my day…

That’s not the point of this post though. The point is, as soon as Nutty goes back to school I will be a stay-at-home-mom without kids. Ok, I’m not a true stay-at-home-mom. I work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I’m home during the week and work on weekends. I will continue this schedule despite the girls being in school because it helps me avoid before and after school daycare.

I’m not sure how I feel about being a semi stay-at-home-mom without kids. Sure, I’m excited about FINALLY having time to myself, I can get (and keep) the house clean, and I can catch up on stuff I’ve been meaning to do but haven’t had the time…but, what am I going toΒ really do with myself?

I’m excited to see what this new chapter in my life will bring!

Are you a stay-at-home mom without kids (now that they are in school)? What do you do with your time?

Comments

  1. Hope she feels better soon. My kids were to start on Tuesday and my daughter finally went back today but my son is still out sick.

  2. My son started school the early part of last month. I’m now able to get a lot accomplished during the day, haha. πŸ™‚

  3. oh goodness your girls are too precious! We went back to school on the 3rd!

  4. I’m the crazy lady who talks to the dog all day. Actually being a full time professional blogger keeps me pretty darn busy.

  5. You’ll fill up that time fast. Soon you won’t know how you managed to get it all done with the kiddos home! However, it’s nice to have them around & that part I do miss.

  6. My kids are in their 3rd week of school already. Free time? I’m working.

  7. I bet you’ll figure out what to do. I dream about the day ha! My son is in school full day but I have 18 month old twins!

  8. They are so cute! Yay for school! πŸ™‚

  9. I was a SAHM, then I worked part time outside the home while my kids were at school, and now I work from home while my youngest are at school. I miss being the full SAHM part. I like my job, but being a full time mom was the BEST. I loved volunteering at my kids schools, getting to know the teachers. That part was awesome! =)

  10. I’ve been home for about two years now following losing my job after lung surgery. Hated the circumstances that brought me here but I love it!

  11. I still have a 3 year old at home, but next year he’ll be in half day pre kindergarten.

  12. I’m a work at home mom so my day is spent working, but now it’s uninterrupted mostly which is awesome!

  13. My youngest started kindergarten this year, too! So far, I’ve done NOTHING productive with my time! πŸ˜‰

  14. My 4 (5 in a week!) year old is in pre-k. I am home cleaning and organizing, blogging, and cooking! I stay pretty busy, but i think I will be a mess when he is in Kindergarten!

  15. I’m not a stay at home mom but I was a stay at home aunt. The girls stayed with me up until they were both 4 years old. I love my uninterrupted work time… love. it.

  16. Oh wow, she has grown up so much. Love her hair. I have a third grader too this year. They grow up so fast!
