Growing up my family had a tradition to eat spaghetti every Wednesday night. It was an easy meal for my mom to make before church activities in the evening. All my friends knew that Wednesday was spaghetti night and they would frequently invite themselves over for dinner (which of course also became a regular thing). To this day, my childhood friends and I STILL talk about Spaghetti Wednesdays.
Now that I have a family of my own, we too have a meal tradition. It’s not Spaghetti Wednesdays, it’s Pizza Thursdays! I never intended to make Thursdays pizza day in my house. It just kinda happened. Hubby and I joined a pool league shortly after we got married. Every Thursday during the winter months we shot pool. Pizza was a quick and easy meal to make in the short amount of time we had between work and the start of pool.
Fifteen years and two kids later, Hubby still shoots pool every Thursday. I have been in and out of the league as time and my job schedule has permitted. Still, pizza is a super quick and easy meal to make between work and pool. Thursday is the one day of the week I don’t have to think about what to make for dinner and the girls know it’s tradition.
We’ve tried many brands of frozen pizza over the years, some good, some bad, some just the right size, some way too small, some that take 25 minutes to bake, and others that take just 10-12 minutes.
