Frequently Asked Questions!

Since we get asked the same questions over, and over, and over (and over, and over...) again, we thought we'd FINALLY do a Frequently Asked Questions post!  It's about time, huh? 1)  Are you two sisters? No.  Glad we got that out of the way.  Now we can move on. 2)  But you look so much alike.  Are you sure you aren't related? No.  We mean, no, we are not related, and yes, we are sure of it. 3)  How did you come up with the name of your blog? Funny story: We were talking on the phone trying to decide on the name of our blog.  We wanted something that we always yelled at our kids when they were bored and getting into trouble.  Suddenly Lindsi said, "Hang on a sec..." Jamie heard Lindsi say, "Can you PLEASE get your toys out of the dryer!  I am sick of finding toys in the dryer!"  When Lindsi got back on the phone, Jamie said, "That's it!  That's the name of our blog!" 4)  Why did you start your blog in the first place? We had both been blogging on different blogs for … [Read more...]

Pop Cap Necklaces

It all started when Nutty saw (and liked) some pop cap necklaces online and I got a hair-brained idea that we should make them for party favors for her birthday.  I searched all over the internet on how to make them and found that in theory they'd be super easy for me us to make on our own! Hubby and I drank a few (ahem) beverages and we saved up enough caps to make the necklaces... The first problem was getting the plastic, rubbery thing out of the middle of the cap.  Those buggers are harder to get out than they look!  I (and when I say I, I mean Hubby) resorted to burning them off with his torch. It worked great except for the smell, but it created another problem.  See the color?  Never mind, I was going to paint them anyway...after all, the caps are from (cough) adult beverages. Next came flattening the caps.  No problem right?  We'd just take a hammer and flatten them.  I saw plenty of people do it online... Ok, so they're a bit mis-shapen but that just adds … [Read more...]

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of Raising Kids…

We all know that raising children has good, bad, and ugly times. Today we bring you a little humor related to raising your little ones! The Good:  Pregnancy gives you the best, most luxurious hair you've ever had. The Bad:  Four months after you give birth, your hair begins to fall out. The Ugly:  You no longer care that your luxurious hair is gone because there's no time to wash and style it anyway. The Good:  Pregnancy gives you glowing skin. The Bad:  Six months into your pregnancy, stretch marks begin to show. The Ugly:  Your skin now looks like a prune. The Good:  You thought that your third trimester of pregnancy prepared you for sleepless nights. The Bad:  Tossing and turning in bed is nothing compared to actually having to get up with an infant. The Ugly:  Due to sleep deprivation, you have now used breast milk or formula as coffee creamer. (photo source) The Good:  You bought the safest, cutest car seat for you infant. The Bad:  You didn't realize how … [Read more...]

Discipline Gone Wrong

Have you ever caught yourself doing exactly what you said you'd never do? Or saying exactly what you swore you'd never say? You know what I am talking about.....that one thing your mom always said that irritated you that you swore up and down you would never be caught saying.....until suddenly, you do! courtesy of Ahh! Parenting Well here is a funny (and TRUE) story about discipline gone wrong. When I was a preteen and teenager I cleaned to let off frustration and steam. Whenever my mom would upset me (which was frequent- let me tell you two ladies with raging hormones- run for the hills!) or if we'd get in an argument, or I'd even been sent to my room (ack!!!), I cleaned. I would make sure she knew I was ticked. How? Well, first thing is first, I'd make sure I slammed the door good and loud and if I didn't feel like the door slammed to my liking heck, I'd slam it again, just for good measure. Next I would turn on my radio and blast some crazy music that I seriously cannot … [Read more...]
